SOLO EXHIBITIONS

The collection of oil paintings in ‘Citrus’ was a concentrated extension of Alice’s previous solo exhibition ‘Through the Garden Gate’. In ‘Citrus’, Alice further explored subjects from gardens and the produce that derives from them. Her love of all things citrus 'stems' from childhood nostalgia and memories of making sugary lemon concoctions with her sisters under an old lemon tree.  As an adult, a fascination with cumquat arrangements, the smell of zesty mandarins in school lunches or endless recipe ideas with lemon and limes would persistently steal her attention. 'Citrus' & 'Through the Garden Gate' were visual culminations of these sentimental journeys.
